Victoria’s Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Programs support individuals who are vulnerable to radicalisation to violent extremism by helping them find safer, more positive pathways.
Delivered by Victoria Police and the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), the programs are voluntary and tailored to each participant’s needs.
The CVE programs support individuals to divert or disengage from violent extremism, by addressing violent ideological beliefs, psychological and social drivers.

Each program offers a holistic, therapeutic approach to help individuals reconnect with community and to build strengths across multiple areas of their lives.
Victoria’s CVE programs are delivered by specialist teams including case managers, mentors and psychologists that support each participant’s individual needs to support disengagement from violent extremism.
Participation is voluntary, and personal information is handled in alignment with privacy legislation. Individuals can choose to withdraw from the program at any time.
