Youth Support Services

Kids Helpline

  • For ages 5 to 25 years (nationwide, 24/7)
  • What’s it for: Confidential counselling for children, teens, and young adults - anything from anxiety or school stress to family, relationships, or online issues.
  • Good for: Younger teens and those who prefer youth‑specific counsellors

Headspace 

  • For ages 12–25 years
  • What it’s for: Youth mental health and wellbeing; support with anxiety, low mood, study/work, Alcohol and Other Drugs, physical/sexual health.
  • Access: Online, phone, and in‑person centres across Australia

QLife

LGBTIQA+SB peer support (nationwide)

What’s it for: Anonymous, free peer support and referrals about sexuality, gender, identity, bodies, feelings or relationships.

13YARN

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis support (nationwide, 24/7)

What it’s for: A culturally safe space to yarn one‑on‑one with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter -  no shame, no judgement.

Griefline

Grief and loss support (adults 18+, nationwide)

What it’s for: Free, compassionate counselling and resources for anyone experiencing grief (bereavement, relationship changes, loneliness, disasters, pet loss).

Youth Support Programs

Game Changers – All Together Now

Are you passionate about creating safer gaming spaces for young people and want to contribute to future initiatives? The Game Changers program helps participants understand and counter far-right extremism through education, critical thinking and positive social action.

NewAccess (Beyond Blue)

Mental health coaching currently available in parts of NSW and QLD

  • For ages typically 12+ in some regions (check local eligibility).
  • What it’s for: Six free structured sessions with a coach trained in low‑intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); practical strategies for everyday stress (study, work, relationships, money, sleep).
  • Access: Phone, video; some providers offer face‑to‑face; no referral needed.

PCYC (Police and Community Youth Club)

What's it for: PCYC offers opportunities for personal growth, leadership and community connection through a wide range of youth programs.
